Normally Your host family will welcome you at the arrival airport and take you to their homes. In some cases we will arrange a transfer with an other family.
You will live with your host parents in their family home. You take part of the family life and normaly they will arrange some activities with you depending on their resources and personal circumstances. They will respect your nutritional demands (at least vegetarian) and your health conditions.
Depending on their age and that of other familiy members the guests may join sports activities and school visits sometimes in connection with other host families.
A health insurance for travel is mandatory for all participants.
The camp organisation team will answer all your questions.
Your host parents will bring you to the camp location at the Youth-Hostel Duisburg Sportpark where we will have a get together event.
On sunday we start with a big round of introduction for presentating yourself and get to know each other. This will be accompanied and guided by a trainer and coach. During your Camp stay you will have the opportunity to give a short presentation about your country and the special conditions of living. Please prepare a short Powerpoint presentation.
We will have some different teaching and discussion rounds and give the opportunity to learn about your special personality characteristics with a psychological tool for personality analysis (stuctogram).
In the Sportpark you can find several training possibilities like trampolining, jogging etc.
During several excursions we will visit the main cities Düsseldorf, Cologne an Bonn. Another part is waterskiing, canooing and swimming (please don't forget your swim suits).
These actions are sponsored and accompanied by several Lions Clubs who organised and arranged the events.

You wil have an experience in team spirit, balance and readyness to help others - and of course much fun.

This day you have an excursion thoug the "Ruhr district" an industrial Megalopolis of steel industra an caol mining.
We will visit the famous coal mining museum in Bochum. An old elevator will bing us down in the underground, where you can get the experience of former coal miners (diggers) an see or try the use of some impressing machines.
After a short trip to the city of Bochum where we have dinner we will visit the Musical Starlight Express - the battel of an old steam train against some newer kinds of locomotives - a nice dreaming

Canooing on water of lower temparature ( 6 degree) makes fun. But what about swimming. It is not recommended exept for our finnish guests - they said that they dont mind to swim in icy waters.

Die Bonner Lions und Leos sind angefragt, wieder einen Bonn Tag zu gestalten.
Beim letzten Mal waren der Besucht der Museums für Deutsche Geschichte und eine Fahrt auf den Drachenfels die großen Attraktionen.
Der Lionsclub Langenfeld hat bereits zugesagt, den Nachmittag auf der Wassersportanlage zu gestalten.
Wir üben so lange, bis jeder auf den Brettern steht :-)

Wir hoffen, dass wir nach einem erfolgreichen und interessanten Camp auch im nächsten Jahr zufriedene Teilnehmer verabschieden können, die noch lange in Kontakt bleiben und sich evtl. auch gegenseitig besuchen und unterstützen. Wir hoffen, dass sie ihre positiven Erfahrungen mit dem Leben in Deutschland und insbesondere im Rheinland in guter Erinnerung behalten und in ihren Heimatländern darüber berichten werden.
